Citrus Lane June 2012 Review

Citrus Lane is another monthly subscription box which delivers 4 to 5 "best of" products based on the child age (new born to 3 years) for 25$ per month. They also provide an option to gift 3, 6 and 12 month gift packages to loved ones.

This is my first Citrus Lane box and I totally love it. This month's theme is "Little Artists".
"Children are natural artists! They’re not afraid to use materials in unconventional ways, and they’re certainly not worried about making messes. Making art allows children to explore their five senses, their emotions, and their environment."

The box is of medium size as above.

So above pic is the first peek in the box.
The box included:

Hohner Kids Toddler Tambourine: Hohner Kids created a BPA and phthalate- free instrument collection just for little hands to shake, rattle, and roll, fostering creativity and giving kids of all ages an outlet for self-expression. My daughter absolutely loved the tambourine. She played and danced for her own music. :)

BabyGanics Toy & Table Cleaner: I got this at the right time. As safe as it is effective, it has no parabens, no sulfates, and no phthalates— basically none of the yucky stuff. It is easy to use and takes very less time to complete the cleaning.

Putumayo 2012 Playground Sampler CD: The CD features six songs from the award-winning Putumayo Kids Playground series performed by renowned and undiscovered international musicians.

Wee Can Too Veggie Art Kit: My favorite in the box. These are eco-friendly, organic, and completely edible, their fingerpaints and veggie crayons are perfect for my daughter who like to taste things. Because the fingerpaints are made from organic fruit and veggie powders they will feel slightly grainy when mixed and will fade over time.

Pop & Lolli Decal: Made of real fabric, this is reusable and recyclable. Best of all, with every set purchase, Pop & Lolli will provide educational materials and resources to a South African child in need through their (it’s) chic 2 change initiative. I got the one above and it is super cute.

Minted 35$ offer: Minted’s global community of designers offers a fresh, modern design for every occasion, birth announcements, party invitations, or stationery. Citrus Lane sent a 35$ gift card to choose any thing we want from their site. They got so much stuff and I am not able to decide on one.

Overall: I am totally impressed with the box. Citrus lane has introduced lot of new products to me which are very useful, creative and at the same time practical. I will continue this subscription as long as I can. My baby destroyed the sheet with individual prices. But I remember counting, the box is definitely worth 40-50$. I will make sure I will give the individual item prices in my next reviews.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Conscious Box June 2012 Review

I have joined the Conscious Box and Citrus Lane subscriptions this month. Today I have received my first Conscious Box. In case you don't know, Conscious Box is a monthly delivery of  pure, sustained and hand-picked products  for 19$ per month.

This is my first subscription box ever and I would say I am surprised to find such a small box infront of my door. I read so many reviews by other bloggers, and always assumed the box would be of atleast medium size from the pictures. But that's not the case. I have taken this photo with a fork on it, so you will have an idea how small it is.

This month's theme is "Leap into Summer":
"Then followed that beautiful season, summer. Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light, and the landscape lay as if newly created in all the freshness of childhood."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

So above pic is the first peek in the box.
The box included:
Vita Rocks Dietary Supplement: 2 samples [0.21OZ]  each(Cherry Blast and Lemon Burst flavors) These Vita Rocks from 'Healthy to Go' are perfect for both kids (aged 4 and up) and adults. These are the vitamins that pop and are a healthy source of vitamins. My husband didn't like these, but I am okay with them. I think, kids would enjoy them more.
Lara Bar: [1.6OZ] (Chocolate Chip cookie dough) Power-packed with simple, delicious fruits, whole nuts and indulgent, Fair Trade Certified chocolate, these bars provide great nutrition in a compact size-perfect for summer travels. The bar is delicious and we enjoyed it.
Natural Vitality Dietary Supplement: [1 fl OZ] (natural berry flavor) Energize naturally with 28 organic and natural foods ,this concentrated whole-food energizer is gluten-free,non-GM and will energize all summer long.

Kelp Krunch sea weed Energy Bar: [1 OZ] (Original Sesame) This energy bar brings the tastiest sea vegetables fresh from North Atlantic and it's orgainc,vegan,gluten-free,diary-free,GMO-free. Proceeds from the sale of each bar are donated to Allied Whale, whale conservation organization. I thought sea weed would taste differently, but the bar is crunchy and yummy. I would definitely buy if I find them in the stores.
Mighty Leaf Tea: 2 samples (Organic earl grey and organic spring jasmine) These are handpicked organic tea blends and they came in biodegradable pouches free of staples and glue. Mighty leaf participates in Good Partner Initiatives.
Artisana Sattva Cashew Butter: [0.5 OZ] This  Artisana Butter is made of lightly roasted organic cashews and is a good source of protein. This has nice cashew aroma and tasted fine.
EBOOST  Dietary Supplement: [2 fl OZ] (Berry Energy) These energy shots are sugar free and don't contain caffeine, artifical flavors, or chemicals. Take on summer with natural energy. We didn't like the taste, so I am planning to mix this in a fruit smoothie and finish it.
Nuti-Masu Life Ocean Salt: [0.11 OZ] This is 100% pure and natural, 25% less sodium chloride, and winner of the Mode Food Selection Award Gold Medal 6 times in a row.

Vega Nutritional Shake: [1.5 OZ] (Berry)hmm..another dietary supplement in the box .. Vega is plant-based with robust amounts of daily vitamins, minerals combined with protein, fiber, omegas, antioxidants and probiotics.
Natural Newborn Bug stopper Soap: This is a natural form of bug repellant without using harsh chemicals and toxins, made of pure herbs and essential oils and can be quite useful for summer camping plans.
Savvy Boheme Deodorant: (with peppermint and rosemary) This natural deodorant also provides nutrition and nourishment to skin and no GMO, Aluminium, Propylene Glycol and Gluten in it.
KO Denmark body Lotion: [0.16 fl OZ] (jasmine neroli rose) This paraben-free, sulfate-free, fragrance-free, glycol-free, phthalates-free and silicone-free body lotion features premium ingredients for all skin types. The lotion is a very small sample, I can't say much about its affects. But it smelled nice.

I have to yet to try some of the samples and will update this post with remaining item reviews soon. Bonus gift (when you post on their facebook page) sent to me is Soap Hope 5$ gift card. Also came with this box is a beautiful post card as below:

Overall: I am not impressed with the box. Most of them are food samples and mostly, dietary supplements which i am not much into.  I subscribed to conscious box because of their reputation that the box would be a huge variety of stuff and clearly, variety is missing in this box. I have to try these products and still in a confusion if I will continue next month as 19$ is a bit on the higher side when there are other green boxes that I can try for 10-15$.
Stay tuned for more updates.

** I have cancelled the conscious box subscription for now **

Today is my Birthday

Hello everyone.. Welcome to my Blog.. I am mom of a 19 month old little angel. Today is my Birthday       (Yay.. Happy Birthday to me :) ) and  I thought, this would be the perfect day to start my blog 'Nap Time Blast' during my baby's nap time.

The main goal of this blog would be to list out all the important things that I discover, consolidate all the useful information, try and test out products/methods and provide reviews from my perspective as I embark on my journey one step at a time. This blog would be a journal for me to track the progress I make, it will motivate me to learn new things and I also hope this information would be useful for many others in their every day life and help them to make right choices.

Thank you for visiting and I look forward for your feedback/response on my blog. Wish me good luck for my future posts. Have a delighful weekend.
